After the successful recent completition of the 1st edition, the 2nd EULAR Online Course for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in collaboration with the Lupus Academy will start on 14 October 2020 under the coordination of Prof. Ricard Cervera and its faculty includes some of the most prestigious experts on this disease, including Profs. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex multi-organ autoimmune disease, which until recently has not seen the necessary paradigm shifts in treatment options to facilitate optimal care. Recent updates to management guidelines, greater understanding of best clinical practices (including steroid sparing and optimal use of hydroxychloroquine) and the advent of new treatment options, offer renewed hope for better patient outcomes in SLE.
Improving understanding of best practice in SLE is therefore of paramount importance in supporting the development of multidisciplinary knowledge among physicians worldwide. Junior and senior rheumatologists alike would benefit from new and renewed education focused on the management of SLE in the 21st century.
